Admission Requirements

The East African University strives to admit those applicants who are best prepared to benefit from and contribute to TEAU academic community. Admission specialists will review your application and supporting documentation carefully to assess your overall academic preparation. In evaluating your application, the University will consider the following factors:

  1. Mean Grade scores achieved in High School
  2. Grades earned in core subjects depending on the specific programmes in which you are interested
  3. Additional information provided in support of your application.

Before you apply for admission at TEAU, you are encouraged to carefully consider the various degree and diploma programmes available. Admission to TEAU is on a first come first serve basis so be sure to complete your application early.

Whether you are interested in undergraduate or graduate studies, diploma or certificate programmes, you will find that TEAU has a variety of programmes to chose from in fulfilling your educational and career goals.

Duly filled application forms should be addressed to the Registrar- academic Administration.

Application should be accompanied by copies of ID/Passport, relevant academic and professional certificates.

Application fee is as follows:

  1. Ksh.1,000 (Certificates, Diplomas & Undergraduates programmes)
  2. US Dollars 50 for all non-East African applicants.

Financial Aid

Our financial services allow learners to access funding through available Government and County funding programmes. Degree applicants are eligible for HELB support to lessen the burden in accessing quality education. We also admit government sponsored students.

Select your course or programme

We offer a wide range of programmes. When choosing your course there is a lot for you to consider. What type of course should you do, what qualification will you get and what is your desired career path.

Check entry requirements

Depending on the course you would like to apply, check that you meet our entry requirements. If you do not meet these requirements, there are still options available to you.

Check for credit eligibility

If you have post secondary educational qualifications, you may be entitled to receive credit transfer. Applicants seeking credit should include academic transcripts and curriculum details in their applications.

Complete and submit an application form

If you meet all the above requirements, then you are now ready to complete our application form. Admission forms may be obtained from the admissions office at the main campus or  be downloaded from our website www.teau.ac.ke

Application payment

Completed application/registration forms MUST be submitted together with a copy of a bank deposit paid to Co-operative Bank Account No. 1129285860000, Equity Bank Account No. 0350296695686 or M-Pea  Paybill No. 174507 A/C. Student ADM No. No cash fees, money orders, postal orders will be accepted in the University.

Review The Submission

Application for admission does not guarantee admission into the University for course applied for, this will be subject to fulfillment of all requirements and class size as approved by the University Senate.For further information, kindly enquire from the Registrar.

Things To Know First

You will need :

  • To join TEAU Bachelor's programme a candidate needs a C+ (plus) and above in KCSE or, 5 Credits in IGCSE; Or 2 Principal passes in 'A' level or Division 2 in GCE Or 50% from other countries using percentages.
  • The entry requirement for a TEAU diploma programme is a KCSE mean grade of C- (minus) with a certificate course from a recognised institution or a mean grade of C (plain) or Principal Pass in 'A' levels, or 4 credits in GCE or their equivalent.
  • The minimum requirement for entry into TEAU Certificate programme is a KCSE mean grade of D+ (plus) or its equivalent.
